February 2017’s Photo Prompts:

Hi, there! So, today I took the photo prompt and sort of themed up both photos of the day and then some! I started on my goal to start walking more. It was a lovely day – about 44 degrees when these photos were taken – so I decided to make a short loop around a lower section of Mount Albion Cemetery. Start slow and build up, you know! I’m going to give this the good ole college try……whether I keep it up is yet to be seen, but I can promise that if I do continue to walk in nice outdoor locations, such as Mt. Albion or the Canal Tow Path, etc., that I will absolutely have my camera with me and you’ll see what I see! But, given the unpredictability of the weather this time of year and the desire for more flat, controlled surfaces to start my efforts out with, I will likely seek out indoor locations – like the walking loop at the school, maybe???? Whatever I end up doing, I really do need to build up my knee and energy to be able to walk further than I do……I have three adventures planned between now and June that all will require extensive walking! So, wish me luck!
So, here are the Photos of the Day……and then some……for February 17, 2017:
# 48 Photo Prompt – Sport:

“Left, Right, Left, Right”
#sport; #walking
# 48 Caught By My Lens:

“A Nice Winter Stroll”
And, more of what I saw along my walk:

I’m not the only one who’d been out walking, today!

And, signs that some critters were enjoying a nice winter stroll through the cemetery, too!

I just love how beautiful and peaceful it is in our lovely cemetery!

I strolled past some ancestors on my grandmother’s side……the Armina L. Miles on the left was a cousin of my great grandfather’s (my grandmother’s father). She died at the age of 29, just 3 months before my grandmother was born, so her parents gave her the middle name of Armina in her honor.

I FEEL HUMAN, AGAIN!!! YAY!!! Finally got enough sleep to shake off that weak/tired feeling…..I feel like I have actual muscles, again, and am no longer a limp dishrag that has to fall onto the couch or bed after the slightest physical exertion! And, I had my regular routine doctor visit, today…..I told him about my episode and he agreed that, from what I described, he would most likely conclude it was food poisoning……not that it really matters what name we put on it, but it does put my mind at ease that it most likely wasn’t a virus that I might end up with a relapse of!
So, here are the Photos of the Day for February 16, 2017:

Feeling a bit better, today……the 12 hours of torture didn’t return, so that is good, but I’m still struggling to get my strength back! I thought I was up to venturing out, this afternoon, so I popped in the store quick to pick up just a couple things and then stopped at the Village House to have a bowl of soup – first real food since this all started on Monday evening. After losing everything I ate over the last month and only managing to force down a 1/2 a banana yesterday, I thought the Village House’s chicken soup sounded good…..and, it was!!! Really hit the spot, but I couldn’t quite finish it. That’s OK, though – it’s a start! But, when I got home, I was so exhausted, I went back to bed for a couple hours and slept hard! You’d think I wouldn’t be able to sleep a wink after sleeping all day yesterday and all night last night and going back to bed this morning for a couple hours before my outing, but……..guess my body thinks it needs it!
Anyway —- I did manage to get my photos for today, so here are the Photos of the Day for February 15, 2017″

February 2017’s Photo Prompts:

Hello…….sorry, no photos, today! I had a very UNhappy Valentine’s Day and spent the most of the entire day in bed sleeping off a nightmare from last night!
About 6:00-ish last evening, I got hit HARD with what I was sure must have been food poisoning…..I had a love/hate relationship with my toilet and the waste basket in the bathroom as I had explosions erupting from every orifice of my body all at the same time for several hours…..then, I fell into bed, clothes and all, with the lights on about midnight. But, that wasn’t the end of my nightmare…….I was only able to sleep for about 1/2 hour intervals when the violent attacks on my body returned off and on ALL NIGHT LONG!!! I finally put on some jammies and turned out the lights at 3:30 am, hoping for a restful few hours, but my body didn’t take the hint!
So……I finally got about a full hour’s sleep between about 6:00-7:00, things had slowed down, but I woke up so very weak and exhausted. I got up at the usual time and let Megan out and fed her, but I knew trying to stay up was futile, so I went back to bed. I was able to sleep most of the morning with only a couple interruptions, but was still really weak……the couch became my best friend the rest of the day!!!
At one point, I thought I felt up to walking across the street to get my mail……it took way more energy than I had to get a stack of catalogs and an advertisement that all went in the recycle bin on my way back in the house! UGH!
I used to think the line from The Devil Wears Prada…..”I’m just one stomach flu away from my goal weight” was funny…….UM, IT IS NOT!!!! I lost 5 pounds over night, but I’d gladly take it back – DOUBLED – if it meant I didn’t go through what I did to lose it!!!
So……..sleeping and forcing down liquids every time I woke up was how I spent my Valentine’s Day! Isn’t that romantic???

Hi, There……so, I learned something new, today…..maybe some of you already knew this, but I feel pretty darned enlightened!!! 😀
You see, today’s photo prompt was “Flat Lay”….thought that was odd and it caused me to wonder what in the world I would photograph to capture the intent of the prompt! So, I plugged in the hashtag to see some other examples on Instagram and got even MORE confused…..most of the photos weren’t of “flat” things!!! So, I Googled it! And I found out that the definition of “Flat Lay” is: “A photo of an object or group of objects taken from above, looking down on them.” Hhhmmm……it appears to be an Instagram thing…..never heard of it, but now I know……and I think it is kinda cool!!!
So……here is the Photo of the Day for February 13, 2017…….and it is the only photo for today because I had a lot going on and figuring out what to do for the photo prompt took up a bit of what time I had for this! 🙂

Welcome, seekers of interesting things to read and look at that are worth of your time……I hope you find it, here!

Happy Sunday…..hope the fog and sleet (earlier) and snow (now) hasn’t put a damper on your day! I had an enjoyable morning at church, breakfast after with a friend, and a quickie trip to Walmart to pick up a few things….I let Valentine’s Day sneak up on me and didn’t have a treat for my special friend at church this morning…..I am a BAD special friend!!! Oh, well, now she’ll get to stretch out the holiday and get a special treat next Sunday…..I’ll make it up to her!!! ❤

# 43 Photo Prompt – Pattern:

“Brick Columns”
This caught my eye when I was at Walmart……I thought, “Perfect!” It is not only a pattern of columns, but the columns themselves have a pattern from the bricks, then there is the iron fencing pattern, and, heck, you can even include the tire tracks in the slush as a pattern, if you want to get nick-picky!
I did a whole Blog Post once on photos that represent patterns – click here to see it!
# 43 Caught By My Lens:

“Winding Into The Fog”
You know me……I love a good FOG photo……and railroad tracks gave me a double whammy!!!
BONUS:

“Foggy Walk on the Tracks”
This was my first shot for today’s “Caught By My Lens” photo……I’m including it cause even though I ended up liking the other one much better, I still kinda like this one, too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And, now……here’s a song I heard on the radio while I was out getting today’s photos and thought it was so perfect for me and what I was doing, I decided to share it with you all……enjoy!!!
Well, hello, there…..and Happy Saturday! I had the pleasure of a very lazy Saturday……I read, took a drive, filled up my gas tank, took a nap, and……well, that’s about it! hehehe A true lady of leisure!!!
Here are the Photos of the Day for February 11, 2017:
# 42 Photo Prompt – Words:
“Most Important To Me”
This sign hangs prominently in my dining room……and it is no accident that Family is at the center of these very important words!
# 42 Caught By My Lens:
“Stone Wall”
This stone wall surrounds the old Tanner cemetery across the street from Mount Albion Cemetery. It pre-dates Mount Albion and began as the Tanner family burial grounds. Many of the remains were moved to Mount Albion after it opened.
Hello and Happy Friday, Ya’ll…….I had another awesome day in my little slice of paradise! Had plans to run some errands and meet a friend for coffee this morning…..friend couldn’t make it and I got sidetracked and didn’t get dressed until I needed to head out for a meeting I had to attend at noon…..one of the perks of retirement! hehehe Then, I had a meeting scheduled for three hours…..I know what you’re thinking – UGH! right? Well, actually, it was a pretty amazing meeting – we actually got everything done, tossed around some great ideas, actually agreed upon after very little debate, and finished up about a 1/2 hour early!!! Now, this is a group I can get on board with!!! 😀 This was out first of several meetings for us between now and the first of May and I think we’re going to have a wonderful time and be very efficient and successful in our efforts! So, there……yes, it can be done!!!
# 41 Photo Prompt – The View From Here:
“Traffic Jam on the Lift Bridge”
I had one that depicted the view from my desk this morning – snow flurries around a bird-less bird buffet, but when I got in my car after my meeting and had to sit there for quite some time while traffic was backed up because of large vehicles taking turns going over the lift bridge from both directions, I knew that would make a MUCH more interesting photo…….the first one was boring, so I deleted it and replaced it with this one! 🙂
# 41 Caught By My Lens:
“Not In Season”
Then, I swung around in the alley beside the canal to go around the block and this caught my eye…..I realized I haven’t taken any shots of the canal since it has been drained for the season, so I took this one! 🙂
