Movie Review – The Bounty Hunter

I’ve been waiting a long time for this movie to come out!  Gerard Butler – love him…..Jennifer Aniston – so funny…..previews looked hysterical…..the story sounded like it just had to be funny to watch (ex-husband bounty hunter has to bring in ex-wife because she skipped bail)!  It finally opened this weekend and I, of course, ran out to see it on Saturday.  I actually had two I was trying to choose between – “The Bounty Hunter” and “The Ghost Writer”.  “The Bounty Hunter” won out because it was playing here in Sanford and I really wanted to just laugh for a while!  “The Ghost Writer” would have meant a drive in to Cary and it wasn’t likely to give me a good laugh.

All I have to say about “The Bounty Hunter” is that it was a treat to watch Gerard Butler – he lived up to my expectations!  Jennifer Aniston was funny and did a good job on her character, too.  But, the rest was kind of a dud…..the previews showed us all the funny scenes – there was no need to spend the money on a ticket, cause I saw it all for free!  Don’t get me wrong – it was cute and I did laugh – just not as much as I thought I would.  Yeah, it was cute, but it wasn’t anything all that special.  It is a good one for NetFlix……save your money on a big screen ticket and wait till it comes out on DVD or cable.  If it comes down to a choice between this one and another one – take a chance on the other one!  I wish I had!

I rate it a C+…..just average – not good, not bad – might be fun for a boring night at home!
