Let’s Go Yankees, Let’s Go!

If you’ve read this blog for a while or if you know me personally, you know I’m a baseball fan – specifically a NY Yankee fan! I know – I’m living in the wrong part of the world for that — I don’t care anything for basketball or football or hockey or Nascar — just baseball, which isn’t usually the topic of discussion or an easy topic to work into a discussion around here! And, I’m not an “all ’round” baseball fan, either – yes, I enjoy watching baseball, really love going to a major league game whenever I’m traveling and in a city that has a stadium, and used to really enjoy going to see the Rochester Redwings play in the minors before I moved here (sitting in the cheap seats with good friends and a few beers and a dog or two – aahh – the great American past time). But, I haven’t gotten into going to the Bulls games (although I did go a couple times) and don’t watch baseball on TV or pay any attention to any of the teams – except for if the Yankees are playing!!! When it gets down to the World Series, if the Yanks aren’t in it, I’ll root for whatever American League team made it, but won’t really pay that much attention to it.

All that said — I also have to say that I am NOT a fair weather fan!!! NO, SIR!!! The Yanks are in a slump this year (well, let’s call a spade a spade — they’re scraping the bottom of the standings board) — but, they are still the Yankees and I’m still rooting for them to make one of their infamous come backs and get a good rally going to spring into first place and make it to the series — and I’ll be doing that until the day the series starts – with or without them! ha-ha-ha

Seriously — the Yanks have had their golden years and their not so golden years, but I’ve stuck with them! I don’t understand these folks who call themselves die hard fans, but go nuts and bad mouth their team when they are having a tough time — that’s when they need their fans the most!!!

So — Let’s Go, Yankees, Let’s Go!!!! You can do it — you’ve come from behind to win it all before — you can do it again!!!!

(But, then again, coming in dead last just may be the kick that Steinbrenner and his merry men need to show them that they can’t treat people the way they do and keep staying on top…..)
