Just a few thoughts I feel worthy of jotting down!
My grandfather was a hard working man – as many were of his generation. But, he held fast the belief that Sundays were for rest and time spent with family….and fishing! Period! My grandparents would go for Sunday drives most Sundays – go visiting family or just drive around the countryside – I often rode along with them!
I remember him saying many, many times: “Sundays are not for lawn mowing!!! It disturbs the peace of a neighborhood!”. While I do try to uphold that — because you can’t deny the wisdom in it — I do sometimes end up mowing on Sunday! So, on Sundays – like today – when I decide to mow the lawn, I feel guilty! I hear him in my head saying I’m disturbing the peace that should be honored in the neighborhood. I feel like I should apologize to my neighbors….even though, on occasion, they also mow on Sunday – just like me! But, that’s not the point, is it?
Anyway – I did mow, today, and felt the need to write about it! My yard looks so nice when I’ve finished mowing and it is all nice and green (although, the heat and lack of substantial rain has left some browning spots….ugh!!!). I didn’t do the weeding in the back yard that I really needed to do….but, I’ll get to it….another day!
Here is the view from my cub cadet as I was mowing:

…I love mowing the lawn.
So do I! It is usually the most peaceful time of my week just riding around on my cub cadet with some music in my headphones and no one bothering me! hehehe
