Buffalo Day Trip

Had a nice day trip to Buffalo – it was a bus tour organized by the Busy Buddies group and the Medina Sandstone Society! the weather was lovely for it!

First we toured the St. Patrick’s Friary Designer House on Seymour St. It was constructed in 1891 in the Gothic Revival style out of Medina Sandstone. It was the home of Franciscan Monks until October 2017 and is now privately owned. The Junior League of Buffalo is hosting their 22nd Decorator’s Show House in the former Friary. Each room is decorated by different designers. It was pretty cool. There are three floors of rooms – I only toured the first floor because of the stairs, but what I saw was very interesting.

After the tour, we went to lunch at Pearl Street Grill on Pearl Street. I had the pot roast and it was AWESOME — so tender and jammed with flavor!!! It was a HUGE serving – I only ate about 1/2 of it! And, then they brought a big piece of chocolate peanut butter cake!!! 😳

The last stop was at Alethea’s Chocolate on Main St. in Williamsville — I think I gained 10 pounds just walking through taking photos!!! LOL TONS of chocolate confections and an ice cream parlor! I resisted buying or tasting anything…..thankfully, I was stuffed from lunch – that helped me be a good girl!!!
