What a lovely weekend…

This has been one of the most pleasant weekends I’ve had in a long time.  Nothing special going on, really, and I’ve had weekends where I’ve done more fun stuff, but this one just seemed to stand out!  One reason was the weather!  Is it really the middle of November?  Two absolutely gorgeous 70 degree days to set the stage for total enjoyment of anything you may want to do.  Can’t argue with that!

Riding around town has been a joy, too — the weather helped, but the best part was the beautiful autumn colors out in full force.  I’ve written many times about how I love the fall season and miss the strong characteristics that you find in the north-east.  But, I’m also happy that this area is not so far south that it loses the change of seasons.  We do get a fairly impressive autumn here and I really do enjoy it.

So – yesterday I took in a movie (scroll to the next post for a review) and did my grocery shopping.  But I also spent a lot of time just bumming around the house and playing with the girls.

Today, I went in to work for a couple of hours, then met a friend for brunch at Cafe 121, and then just drove around checking out the fall colors and breathing in the beautiful fresh air.  I went to check out the new Big Lots — nice!!!  I have a feeling their grand opening numbers will be pretty impressive — that place was PACKED!!!  And people were filling their carts!  It was definitely “the place to be” in Sanford today!  I ran into several people I know all there at the same time – I didn’t see a soul I knew in WalMart or Lowes Home Improvement when I popped in those two stores!

But, the most fun I had today was dancing around like a wild woman with the girls in the living room!  I cranked up the classic rock and danced and sang and they jumped around with me and howled and barked!!!!  It was a blast!!!

I love having plans and doing fun or interesting things on the weekends, but I also really cherish the care-free, fly by the seat of my pants type of weekends that end up being a hodge podge of nothing that turns into one big weekend full of everything!
