Just a few thoughts I feel worthy of jotting down!
Case in point: Every morning my alarm starts going off about 5:00 am! I have to do that because my body has a tendency to automatically swing my arm over and hit the snooze for at least a half hour or more without ever even waking up! The first time I actually “hear” the alarm and am aware of hitting the snooze is about 5:30 am! I, then, try to not let the girls know I’m actually “conscious” for another 3 or 4 snooze hits! As soon as they think it is about time I wake up, they start whining and taking turns poking or licking at me to get me to get out of bed and let them out! When they come back in, we all go in the den so I can read the paper and get myself fully awake before I start the morning (I am NOT a morning person — in any way, shape, or form)!!! They give me about 20-30 minutes to do this — they lay quietly or gently play on the floor beside me and let me have my “I just need to get my barrings” time! They seem to know when I log off the Sanford Herald and start to go on to other things (check emails, blogs, etc.) because as soon as I do, they start taking turns nudging me and telling me that enough is enough, they want breakfast!!! I usually go get them some breakfast, let them back out to play, and start getting ready for work………..that’s our routine and they make me stick to it!!!!
This morning, I was just not ready to get the day started!!! I stalled with a google search I “needed” to do and it was really important that I leave a blog comment or two – you know, important stuff!!! Oh, the girls were persistent!!!! Every couple of minutes, they would take turns digging at my leg or poking me with their nose or wiggling while looking up adoringly at me or SOMETHING to get my attention!!! I talked to them and acknowledged them each time, but they knew I’m was not giving in!!! Then, I looked at them and said “OK, OK already!” — they took that to mean “OK, I’m on my way to the kitchen!!!” They all instantly turned and headed that way in a mad dash — but, they know me all too well — they got just outside the door of the den and all three stopped and looked back to see if I was following them!!! When they saw I wasn’t, they let out (in perfect unison and amazing pitch, I might add) a loud attention getting bark and then a frustrated growl…………………………how much plainer could they be???? The “bark” was “HEY!!!” and the “frustrated growl” was “are you coming or not???”!!!! ha-ha-ha
My girls — I think I’ll keep them!!! ha-ha-ha
