One of the new Sanford bloggers, Emily Page, is an old friend I haven’t run into in a very long time, but still think of often and fondly! She posted an entry on her blog in honor of National Hunt for Happiness Week – I never heard of that! I enjoyed her post so much that I am going to shamelessly steal her idea and do a similar one myself!
Here is what makes me happy and puts a smile on my face (other than the first 3, these are in no particular order – just as they pop in my mind):
- Daily IMs and/or Emails with my Mom – it is a great way to touch base every single day regardless of what is going on!
- Family and Friends – I am so blessed to have a strong support system and lots of people that I love and enjoy spending time with!
- My girls – it is impossible to be sad around them – they are so devoted and always so happy to see me or get to just be near me!
- Saturday or Sunday matinees
- Movies that make me laugh, cry, and leave the theater feeling good inside
- Good homemade soup – especially thick creamy soups
- Songs that are connected to a great memory – when they come on the radio, it sends me back there and gives me those warm fuzzy feelings
- A beautiful bright blue sky with vivid white wispy clouds
- Putting the finishing touches on a job well done
- Being on the board of Communities In Schools
- Receiving flowers for no particular reason (and when there is a reason, too, but more so when it is “just because”)
- Daisies – they aren’t necessarily my favorite flower, but they are definitely the “happiest” flower – I always smile when I see a bunch of daisies
- Knowing I’ve made someone else happy
- Going shopping and finding exactly what I want in the color/style/size I want — and a big cherry on top if I also find it on SALE!!!
- Ice Cream Sundaes
- Yankees in the playoffs and the World Series
- Puppies
- Puppy breath
- Blogging
- Riding around on a gorgeous day with the top down on my Mustang
- Warm days with a strong breeze blowing
- Napping on the patio on those warm breezy days
- A freshly mowed lawn
- Lighthouses
- Carousels / carousel horses
- Angels
- The smells and sounds at a carnival
- Being alone on a quiet beach or beside a creek with only the sound of the water and a breeze on my face
- Singing around the house in the morning
- Pedicures and Facials
There is a lot more that makes me happy – I am generally a happy person! But these are the things that flooded into my thoughts while I was writing this post!
Have a GREAT day — give someone a smile — you’ll surely get one back — smiles are contagious!!!
I’m glad you made a “happy list”! You can borrow from my blog any time! Hope you ahve a great end of the week!
