May 30th: “People Watching”
I didn’t have time for any people watching today….this was taken in Dubuque, Iowa in 2017…..I was watching a yoga class as I strolled along the bank of the Mississippi River.
Dubuque has a wonderful River Walk with lots of art and historic bridges and buildings. I spent a lot of time there on the first day of my visit to the Dubuque area.
May 29th: “Pink and Green”
I have a confession….I’m a notorious plant murderer!!! There, I’ve said it! Outdoor plants thrive under my care (cause they don’t depend on me much), but indoor plants are sitting ducks….I tend to either over water or under water them or they hate the spot I pick for them or whatever…..they eventually die – usually sooner rather than later!!!! I’ve even killed multiple philodendrons and I’m told that if I kill plants, that’s what I should get because it’s darned near impossible to kill one! Well……
I have a cactus that has done well for several years now – it is a mix of Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cactus’ and blooms at least a couple times a year and seems to like where I have it and how much water/attention it gets. Just a week or so ago, I picked up an African Violet…..I transplanted it into a bigger pot than the small plastic pot it came in and here it is! I’ve had African Violets before and they did well for a few years and then suddenly they all just died!!!
So….keep your fingers crossed for this little friend…..she can use all the prayers she can get living with me!
May 27th: “Still Life”
Happy Memorial Day! I was so busy enjoying the day, I completely forgot to get a photo for Monday’s topic! Ooopppsss!!!
May 28th: “Street Corner”
Thanks to our pastor for helping me edit the power lines and pole out of this photo! I took it this morning and loved it, but thought it might be just that much better without all the “stuff” running across the scene!
Here is the original photo – what a difference a little editing will do…..I really need her to tell me what app she uses and show me how to use it!!! 😉
May 26th: “Serenity”
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! On this holiday of remembrance of sacrifice and service, I found myself quietly enjoying the serenity of my little slice of heaven! After church, I gathered with some friends for coffee and fellowship and then planted my raised beds and finished the book our church’s Summer Book Club is reading – “Sensible Shoes”. It was the perfect way to spend the day…..and the perfect topic for the Daily Photo Challenge to mark the day!
May 18th: “A Shopfront”
The start of my day was here….picking up some samples! From there, I went for an omelet and toast, stopped in at a plant sale at the Cooperative Extension, went to Walmart in both Batavia and Brockport – neither had what I wanted – I really do hate Walmart!!! I dropped the samples off at the church for a meeting tomorrow after worship, went to pick up my cemetery pots and then set them out at our family graves and sprayed all the headstones with cleaner. From there, I came home and mowed the lawn……whew!!! I’ve had quite a day!!! Think I owe myself some time out on the patio with my Kindle!!!
May 17th: “Mid-Day”
I had a lovely day…..went to lunch with a friend and then we both went to visit with another friend! This was taken “Mid-Day” at my friend’s home — she is repurposing this old grain silo into a wonderful space! It is going to be amazing when it’s done — it’s already pretty incredible!
It was a rainy day, but I had such a great time with friends…..and a delicious lunch! Can’t beat that with a stick, can ya???
