Lemonade

I left the house this morning to run my usual Saturday morning errands. As I headed up the street that leads to downtown from my house, I noticed a table with 4 or 5 little girls and a sign telling passersby that they had lemonade for sale! I turned onto the next street and went around the block to return to their lovely little stand. I found several smiling faces eager to sell me their delicious and refreshing treat! I also discovered they were selling handmade bracelets, as well!

So, I put in my order for a glass of lemonade and picked out a pretty pink bracelet – the total was $2.50, so I gave them $3.00 and wished them luck for the rest of their day!

While I was in town, it rained….HARD….and I thought they’d be gone when I returned home, even though it stopped after a little while. But…..nope…..they were still there….someone (I assume one of the parents) put up a nice canopy for them so they could continue with their sales if the rain came back!

What a wonderful thing to see! I have fond memories of manning lemonade stands as a little girl so I could raise a little pocket money or to save up for something special I wanted to purchase! Of course, way back then, I only got 10 cents for a glass of lemonade and today I paid $1…..inflation at work even in neighborhood lemonade stands! hahaha But, it was worth it! The smiles on their faces were worth a whole lot more!

Then…..I stopped by for a quick visit with my great niece, Luci – I gave her the bracelet and she finished my lemonade…..and the additional smile and hug I got for that was absolutely PRICELESS!!!
