Renovations

I am so thrilled with the new floors and furniture that I recently had added to my home!!! Wall-To-Wall Flooring did an outstanding job of installing the Armstrong Grand Illusions laminate flooring. It looks beautiful…….I still have some work to do to put things back where they belong. Because of all that has been going on, I haven’t had time to devote to putting the stuff back on shelves and pictures up on the walls (furniture was repositioned, so the location of stuff on walls needed to be rearranged). Also, I wanted to wait until I had time to clean everything good before I put it back – the floor installation included sawing and sanding that flew dust all over everything. Now that things have calmed down, I can focus on this now and be done with it!!!

Here are a couple pics:

I am so very pleased!!! It turned out so much better than I could have imagined!!!!

  1. Hi Kim,

Was searching on info abour Armstrong “Grand Illusions” flooring and care across your blrg….Sorry to bother you, but would you mind letting us know know how you’ve made out with your flooring since it was installed? We are planning on putting some in and it is hard to find much info on the net.

  2. Hi Kim,

I am also considering installing the Grand Illusions flooring in my home. I am sorry to bother you but can you tell me what color it is you had installed, and how it has held up any problems with scratching.
Thank you so much for your help, Amos

  3. Hi there Kim,

Yet a third request wondering how your Grand Illusions is holding up? There are a couple threads on Garden Web and other sites that are super negative about the product. In particular mentioning it being easily damaged, almost like real hardwood.

  4. Hi — for all who are interested — It has been just about a year since I had the Grand Illusions flooring installed in my home. It is just as beautiful and “new” looking today as it was the day they installed it. I have three very active dogs all weighing approximately 40 pounds each. they run through the house and play with their toys and it has had NO effect on the finish or the flooring itself. This was very important to me and the reason I chose Grand Illusions over real hard wood. I have also had new kitchen appliances delivered and the weight and dollies rolling across the floor didn’t leave any marks at all. The only negative I have is that the shiney finish shows foot prints pretty bad, but a dust mop or damp mop takes them right up and all is good!!!

    I highly recommend it!!!

  5. Kim, thanks!!! We are in the same exact situation — have big dogs, want the hardwood look but can’t handle the damage dogs do. Now we just have to decide which color/style!
