I swear – I can totally see Megan doing this — if I had rolling chairs in the kitchen, I would not be at all surprised to see her think of this and pull it off — this is just the type of thing she would do – she is VERY resourceful!!!!! LOL
(click on this link to see the video I found – it is NOT Megan)

This is the “real” Megan when she was a little younger – right from the start, this was never the face of innocence! ha-ha
The out of state Christmas gifts are on their way……..I got them all wrapped this morning and went to the garage to find boxes so that I could pack them and get them to the PO. I hit a brick wall (theoretically, not literally – I don’t have any brick walls in my garage)!!!! The only boxes I had were either too flimsy or way, way too large or way, way too small — nothing that would work!!!! It was getting to be about 10:30 am and the PO closes at noon!!! No time to go buy boxes, pack the gifts, and get to the PO! I was kicking myself (again – theoretically, not literally – I’m not that limber) because now it looked like I wouldn’t get them shipped until Monday! But, as I sat there on the couch thinking about my options, a commercial came on about the UPS Store and their packing services! WOO HOO, a solution – we have a UPS Store here in Sanford!!! I put the gifts in bags and headed out to Bragg Street! They were wonderful………they took my gifts with big smiles and friendly greetings — packaged them right then and there — took the recipient info — slapped on the labels — and in no time at all, I had a box on its way to Albion, NY (my brother and his family) and one on its way to Summerville, SC (my neice)!!! Well – they will actually go out on Monday, but they are on their way as far as I am concerned and I’m absolutely positive that they did a MUCH better job of packing than I would have done (literally, not theoretically – I am a sloppy packer)!!!!!
One goal for the weekend down – one to go……..
WOW — here we are just ten days before Christmas and seventeen days before a brand new year!!!! Where does the time go? Yeah, yeah, I know the old saying about how the older you get, the faster time flies by you………but, at this rate, when I’m ready to retire and enjoy life, I’ll be in a time when I wake up on New Year’s morning in one year – spend an enjoyable day celebrating – and the next morning I’ll wake up on New Year’s day the next year!!! Blink and it’s gone!!! What fun will that be???
I wrote the first paragraph as an explanation (OK, call it an excuse) for finding myself today — just ten days before Christmas — in that “oh no, I’m not ready!” rut I have gotten myself into every year over the past couple of years! I had such energetic intentions of being all done and able to just sit back and enjoy the season by now! But, alas, I let other things get in the way!
I have finished a great deal, but I still have some gifts to buy, my Christmas cards need to be put together and sent out, and I need to get the gifts that go out of state wrapped and shipped (at least they are purchased and currently on the bed in the guest room). So, I have quite a bit to do — but, I’m resourceful — I’ll get those out of state gifts out today and my Christmas cards ready to pop in the mail on Monday! The shopping that I have left is minimal, so that’s not a biggie!!! I’ll be completely done and ready when my Mom arrives for her visit next Saturday! (or at least all that is the plan at this moment! ha-ha)
I drove past the gas stations on the south end of Horner Blvd this afternoon and noticed the signs for gas at $2.88!!!! Woo Hoo — it’s steadily dropping!!!!
But — big oil companies dropping prices when a travel holiday is coming up???? Isn’t that when they usually RAISE their prices????? (sshh – don’t tell them I said that – I wouldn’t want to be responsible for making them rethink this wonderful trend….)
BTW – If anyone is interested, I am taking up a collection to buy the Devil a winter coat because Hell has surely frozen over!!!!
Oh, wait – no, it’s December! ha-ha!!! I swear – I have to carry a calendar with me to keep reminding myself that it’s December and almost Christmas and not Spring or Summer (as the absolutely gorgeous weather may make us believe)……..
I am going to be so spoiled that I’ll be in total shock when the weather turns more typical for the season!
I went to see August Rush today………good movie!!!! I really enjoyed the story and the acting was good — reminded me that true love transcends all and that the bonds of family and love win out in the end! Definitely a must see!
Oh wait — no, it’s December!!! But it sure felt like Spring today and is supposed to get more Spring like over the next few days! I really enjoyed the weather yesterday and today — so nice!!!!
Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched? Well, I get that feeling every time I look out my back door across the yard behind me to the house that faces me across the street. It is because of the way the people who live there did their Christmas decorations — it makes the house look like a giant face starring right at my back yard!!!
Picture this:
In the upstairs windows, they have one candle light in each of two windows — the windows are positioned on each side of the front of the house — spaced apart like a set of eyes.
Then, in the downstairs windows, there is a single window centered with a 3 light candle light — the 3 lights are positioned perfectly centered between the two in the upstairs windows — looking like a mouth.
In the dark, these lights look like eyes and a mouth creating the illusion of a giant face starring at me!!!! These lights are on all the time, so whenever I look out in the dark, I see it starring back at me……it’s really quite eerie!!!!
Then, when the people are home, they also light up a string of lights that look like they are along the porch railing beside the downstairs window. This string of lights is slightly curved and makes the view even more eerie looking —- when the string of lights is lit, it looks like a cockeyed smile — you know, like the smile a person has if they have had a stroke or other paralysis on one side of their face — the smile curves up on the right side of the “face”, but not the other — like it is smirking at me while it is starring at me………………
It’s not really as disturbing as I make it sound — it’s actually kinda funny and interesting —- but, it did give me a little shiver the first time I noticed it and recognized it as a giant face starring at me……………………..ha-ha!!!!
